Supporting the education of children in our community with the Desa Hay Scholarship Fund.

We feel that as guests of Bali, we have the obligation to give back to our community in a very material way. Therefore, we’ve committed to supporting local initiatives that have a positive social or environmental impact on the island.

While searching for organizations to support, we learned about a nearby orphanage, Chloe Orphans Bali .  The orphanage holds up to 20 children from Bali and neighbouring islands.  A group of very dedicated and compassionate folks in the community do their best to ensure that the basic needs of the children are met from the time they enter the orphanage until the time they graduate from high school.

After learning about the operation and meeting with the staff to figure out what the most pressing needs were, we decided we could best support them by paying for every child’s post-primary school education.  This ensures that each young adult has the opportunity to receive the accreditation they need to get a well paying job and to be self-sustaining after they leave the orphanage.
